Your Questions About Cheap Car Insurance For New Drivers 17

May 30, 2012

Helen asks…

Right, I turned 17 in December and I’ve been having driving lessons, I’m gonna do my theory soon and my test?

when I’m ready in a few months time. I go to college Mon-Fri 9.30-3.15 and I’ve just started work at McDonald’s working Mon-Fri 4-12(evenings), and my dad keeps saying it’s too expensive for me to have my own car, but I can easily afford a car in a few months time with the money I make from the job and I’m just looking for something cheap! I can share my mums car with her but it would be so much easier for me to have my own car considering I’d be driving back and forth all the time. My dad keeps going on and on about insurance being expensive for me because I’d be a new driver, but even if it was £2000 a year, that’s like £200 a month, I can definitely afford that. Anyone got anything for me to say to my dad to make him even think about it! Please help!

Administrator answers:

Your dad is right. The insurance will be high, expect over £3,500
