Your Questions About Cheap Car Insurance For Women Drivers
Learning to drive?
I’ve decided i’m finally gonna learn to drive, the thing is i’m really really nervous. I’m scared of crashing the car or stalling it or something. My boyf tried teaching me but i nearly broke the gear box by paniking and pulling the handbrake up before putting the brake on and stopping the car lol! Any tips of advice? Also, how much should i be looking to pay for lessons (i live near birmingham in the uk) Thankyou xx
Oh, and please no woman driver jokes!! If we’re that bad why do we get cheaper insurance?! Lol =p
Hiya, firstly everyone that starts learning to drive makes mistakes, such as stalling, I’ve done it a few times already – only been driving for around 1 hour !!
I suggest since you’re learning with your boyfriend that you go to a car park, a supermarket one, asda, sainsburys etc, preferably on a Sunday after 4pm ( Less cars around )
There you can get to grips with all the controls and wipers/lights/indicators etc etc.
Then you can start driving around the car park just practising things you will need to do on a busy road.
When you feel ready you can then start parking in the car park.
You will find it difficult to crash !!
And also, no-one can get angry / frustrated, coz no-one will be around !
It is also good if you go to the car park when it is dark as well and get some practise driving in the dark.
When you feel confident you can leave the car park and start driving on the road =)
Sorry, about the driving tests, it depends on which company you go with.
If you go with main instructors, you’re more like to pay a higher price ( Around £25 )
If you go with a small family business you will pay around £10-£15, because they want a good reputation.
That shows a lot of instructors in Birmingham.
Why the difference?
No offence to women please, but i cannot believe how much cheaper womens car insurance is. I mean not every lad out there is a boy racer, and Im sure there are some manic women out on the streets more likely to claim than men.
I think its a very prejudice claim, insurers make, saying that women are safer drivers. I for one, dont intend on killing myself in the too near future by wreckless driving, so i dont see why I should be expected to pay more because of other stupid people.!!!!!
I’m a claims adjuster and I have over 125 open files for accident over the last 2 years. The bulk of my files involve men who are at fault for accidents, then old people (who are not the at fault party) and teenagers. Surprisingly the teenagers are all girls. Now this is just my case load.
In general, men take more risks than women in all areas of life to include their driving habits. While I see more women on cell phones then I do men, I see more men driving eratically then women. When I say eratic, I mean guys who are stopped in traffic and because they’re so impatient they drive over sidewalks, on the wrong side of the road, or through suicide lanes, just to get to where they are going. I have yet to see a woman do that. I see more men run red lights and tailgate then women. I see more men speeding then women. Women by nature are more cautious in their activities and do not take the same level of risk, or chance, as men do.

Minor Accident.. Did I get a ticket?
I got in a accident yesterday.. not sure on the damage cost yet, but It won’t be cheap. I was turning a corner and a woman hit my front drivers side corner.. trying to pass me but did not see another car coming at her. Anyways, the cop said she got a ticket for careless driving.. and since I should have waited for her (even though she had her turn signal on to turn the corner.. I know my bad) that we were both at fault. He never exactly said I got a ticket, nor did I get one at the scene. I got a number to call for my accident number.. I assume for insurance purposes?
Anyways, does me also being at fault mean I also get a ticket.. or is this just going to raise my insurance for having an accident claim?
I’m only 19.. so if there is no ticket involved, I’m just going to fix what I can myself, and not get it professionally fixed with my insurance company..
I have 2 points currently on my record for something I didn’t do back in January of 2007. I went to court 3 times for it.. but still lost the case. I just need to figure out if this, at all, is going to raise my insurance, and if there is anyway to avoid it. My mom basically said since I have to have full coverage on the vehicle because of taking out a loan for it, if it increases at all, I’ve got to sell the truck and find some ‘POS’ I can put PLPD on for a while. Any idea’s?
Well, more than likely at this point, you will not be receiving a ticket. You could receive a citation after the accident and investigation but for this minor accident, I think you are safe.
You are at fault for causing an accident just like the other driver. An accident report is not a ticket. It is a record and explanation of the accident.
Speak with your insurance agent about your insurance.
He/she will tell you everything you need to know.
is this a Scam or NOt?
I am emailing you regarding the 1999 Honda Accord EX. The vehicle looks and works perfect. As you see it has a lot of options. No hidden problems and never involved in any kind of accidents, ONLY 62,086 miles. Because of my divorce settlement,i own this car and as a woman without driver`s license i don`t need it so i`m trying to get rid of it as soon as possible(that`s why i`m selling it so cheap) so the first one came is the first one served. The sale will be managed by eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection Program for our own protection as they act as a neutral third part. This is the second time when I try to sell my vehicle…First time I tried eBay because every time I only use 100% safe methods and I’ve sent the vehicle through the eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection Program to a buyer from Alaska. I paid the shipping and insurance costs and when eBay requested the payment he refused to pay. Why? … because he agreed to purchase the Vehicle in the first place, but typically didn’t had the necessary amount to do so. …if you don’t have the funds available, you can’t get the vehicle. For the time being, my vehicle is on eBay’s hand and it’s ready to be delivered to the next buyer. My price on it is $1,600. The eBay auction ended last week and the guy from Alaska was the winning bidder. He could not pay for it. I need a new buyer to register to my eBay transaction. The vehicle and its documents are in the DAS auto shipping warehouse waiting to be delivered. It’s fully paid for, fully functional, the title is clean. Shipping, insurance and eBay fees have been paid since the previous transaction. I am a member of the eBay buyer protection program and using this service you will get a 15 days testing period after delivery. The transaction will be made only through eBay. eBay will be the third party that will hold the money till you will receive and inspect the car. If the car meets your expectations and you want to keep it you will have to tell them to release me the payment details so I can get paid. Reply me with your full name and shipping address so eBay can contact you regarding the payment and shipping process.
Let me know your thoughts,
There is no car.
There are stolen pictures of someone else’s car.
There is only a scammer trying to steal your hard-earned money.
The next email will be from another of the scammer’s fake names and free email addresses pretending to be the “eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection Program” and will demand you pay for “shipping costs”, in cash, and only by Western Union or moneygram.
Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever.
EBay Vehicle Purchase Protection Program does NOT work like that scammer described.
EBay Vehicle Purchase Protection Program does NOT insist you pay cash anonymously.
EBay Vehicle Purchase Protection Program does NOT send emails with crappy grammar, horribly spelled words and from a free email address.
Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his ‘potential sucker’ list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram.
Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don’t bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn’t worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash.
Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.
If you google “fake car shipping scam”, “western union shipping fraud” or something similar you will find hundreds of posts of victims and near victims of this type of scam.
