Laura asks…

Why is my google images page looking different?

When I search an image on google images, there used to be a section on the left where I could filter what I wanted to see. For example, it asked what dimensions I wanted the picture to be. However, today, when I was working on google, it changed. Now, that whole section itself has gone. Does anyone know what could have gone wrong?

Administrator answers:

Google is rolling out an update of how the results are setup. The menu that was once down the left hand side, has been moved to a horizontal bar above the results.
This has been incorporated to the SERP to work friendly with the mobile version on lower resolutions.

How do you get rid of a photo on google images?

When I search my name on google images a picture comes up (which I’d rather it didn’t) and it links to a website which is more problematic. I can deal with the website but not the picture – how do I make it so that it does not come up?

Thanks for your help!

Administrator answers:

Google is a search engine, all it does is crawl the internet and shows what it finds. You have to get it taken off the website that it’s on then it will stop appearing in Google.

William asks…

How to add a photo to google images?

How do I add a photo to google images??? I am completely lost as to how to do it.

Administrator answers:

The images you see on Google images are primarily sourced from websites.
If you want to have your own images appear on Google image search you first need to upload them onto your website or blog.
If you have a website or blog, upload your images and use an appropriate keyword as the name of the image (yourphoto.jpg), then use the alternate text associated with image properties to describe the photo with the same keyword/s. Lastly write some keyword rich text about the photo. That way when someone inputs a keyword/s into image search, your photo will be amongst the results. It does take some time for images to appear on Google and provided your website/blog is indexed by Google.

How do I delete my personal pictures from Google Images Search Engine?

There are some of my own personal pictures of myself, my family, etc.. that show up on Google Images and I do not want them there. I have gone back to the websites that the images were linked to and deleted all of those pictures already but they still appear in Google Images. Will they eventually go away and not appear any longer or will I have to delete them somehow and if so how can I get them erased?

Administrator answers:

They will go away as Google images updates.
