Your Questions About New Driver Car Insurance Advice
Is it a bad idea for a new driver (age 22) to buy a brand new car?
I am just about to pass my driving test, and am looking to buy a car.. im advised by everyone to buy an older cheaper car as due to my lack of experiance i will bump it apparently.. I have looked at this option and the insurance is RIDICULOUS!! between 1-2 thousand pounds!!!! I personally would love an audi A1 they are about 12,000 and there are some brilliant finance deals avalible.. and the insurance is £890!! i couldnt belive it.. but apparently its due to the car being safer and highly difficult to steal.. Everyone is telling me to buy a banger.. but i dont want to spend 1000+ on an old car that i dont want and then pay through the nose for insurance!! advice please! thanks
If you can afford it, go for new. Not only is the insurance lower but you’ll also have the peace of mind a manufacturers warranty brings.
My 21yo daughter has just got a new Fiesta, her insurance is £270 cheaper than it was on her 8 year old Corsa.
